I'd always aspired to be a technician working for a well-respected and progressive company. When I attended the initial interview, I was taken aback by how incredibly welcoming the staff were and this made me feel confident that an apprenticeship at Thomas Hardie was the perfect career choice for me. Since then, my experience has been life-changing, it has given me opportunities that other placements wouldn’t have been able to offer.

I'd say one of the biggest things I enjoy about being in this role, but also previous leadership roles, would be helping people progress, learn, and help them come out of their shell. Because I've been in their shoes before and I know it can be a daunting experience, but I enjoy being the person they come to for guidance.

I'm trusted to do my job, there's a relaxed atmosphere and the work I do is widely recognised.

You're constantly working, constantly busy and learning on the job. I think as a company and a lot of the people who work here, they've encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and do things I might not have considered when I first started.
